SRINAGAR: A 65-year-old man died after being hit by an unidentified truck in the Wuyan-Khrew area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday, officials said.
The deceased, identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat, son of Sana Ullah, a resident of Wuyan-Khrew, was critically injured after the truck hit him in the area, an official said.
He was initially shifted to a local hospital for treatment and later referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for specialised care. However, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, the official said.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and started an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident and trace the vehicle involved. (KNO)
