SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said that it detained 67 people for questioning so far after a civilian was killed by a Pakistani Lashkar-i-Toiba Militant in in Kunda Shahdra area of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“In connection with incident of firing and killing of Mohd Razaq, a Govt employee, in Kunda Shahdra area of Rajouri a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Thanamandi and investigation is going on,” a Police spokesperson said in a statement.

He said that a breakthrough achieved in initial investigation with respect to identification of one of the attacker, a foreign Terrorist with code name ‘Abu Hamza’, has already been shared alongwith photograph of identification.

“Till now, 67 suspected persons have been detained for questioning post this incident,” the police said, adding that it is requested to all the media houses to refrain from publishing anything related to this case without confirmation from investigation agency.

“Investigation of this case is going on and detentions, questioning is a routine process during investigation of any case,” it said.

“Anything related to the investigation and jumping the line of secrecy without confirmation can draw legal action,” the police added.
