District development commissioner Shopian, in a move to ensure the presence of employees, Monday visited a number of offices and found 68 employees unauthorizedly absent from their duty. These included 12 gazetted officers. DC Shopian immediately issued  suspension orders against the absent employees and recommended the same to general administration department against the gazetted officers found absent.

Deputy Commissioner, Shopian had formed seven teams to have a surprise visit of the government offices. Sources told Kashmir Life that deputy commissioner, Shopian, Mohammad Javed Khan had received complaints about the non punctuality of the employees in different departments.

Khan said that the teams on Monday visited many offices and institutions. The teams found 68 employees including 12 gazetted officers unauthorizedly absent from their duties. These officers included 6 doctors and BMO Shopian, General Manager, DIC Shopian, Executive engineer, irrigation division Shopian, 2 AEE’s, irrigation division Shopian and Horticultur development officer, Keller.

Sources in the office of the Deputy commissioner office said that immediate orders of suspension were issued against all the absent employees while as recommendations were issued to general administration department to take the same action against all the twelve gezetted officers found absent from their duties.

Meanwhile Shopian police, Monday released all the ten youth who were taken into custody during last one week.
