The leaders and activists of Hurriyat Conference (G), who were arrested yesterday, have not been released despite all the separatist leaders and activists arrested on the eve of martyr’s day were released on Saturday evening.

“Muslim League general secretary, Abdul Ahad Parra, and other leaders like Assadullah Parray, Khazir Mohammad Ganai, Mohammad Rafiq Raina, Pir Abdul Majid, Nazir Ahmad Lone and Tahir-ul-Islam have been detained in the police station MR Gunj, from yesterday,” a ML spokesman told Kashmir Life, adding “our party had orgainsed a peaceful march and that remained peaceful till police intervention.”

Hurriyat (G), constituent Muslim League had organized a march to reach Mazar-e-Shuhada, but they were arrested near Khanqah.

Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani’s house arrest is continuing since his arrival from New Delhi in March this year.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the chairman of his faction of Hurriyat was also not allowed to visit Naqashband Sahab on the eve of Martyrs day but police sources said that later in the evening the restrictions on him were ended.

Authorities had arrested dozens of separatist leaders and activists on Saturday, to prevent them from visiting Mazar-e-Shuhada.

Police sources said that all the said leaders and activists have been set free except Geelani and Muslim League leaders who were arrested near Khanqah.
