As the news about the mysterious death of Parvez Ahmad Teli reached Kalamdan Pora, on Sunday, the whole Nawab Bazar area observed shutdown to protest against what they call a “murder”.

“The body of Parvez has reached Srinagar, and we are in close touch with Mumbai police so that the cause of his death is ascertained,” DIG central Kashmir Afhad-ul-Mujtaba told Kashmir Life.

Parvez had gone missing somewhere in Mumbai on July 7.

“Parvez Ahmad Teli son of Mohammad Sultan Teli resident of Kalamdan Pora, Nawab Bazar had gone missing after he left his cousin to get some cigarettes but did not return,” DIG central Kashmir said, adding “Parvez disappeared somewhere near Church Gate in Mumbai on July 7.”

Mujtaba further said that his body was recovered on July 9 by Mumbai police.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people are on roads in the Nawab Bazar area to protest against the “killing” of Parvez. “Parvez has been murdered only because he was a Kashmiri Muslim,” said a protester standing near a burning tyre on the main Chowk of Nawab Bazar.

Meanwhile, when the body of Parvez reached his home in Kalamdan Pora, Nawab Bazar, thousands of people was present there chanting slogans “Khon Ka Badla Khon Sey Lengay”.
