SRINAGAR: Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai Wednesday informed the Rajya Sabha that out of 177 Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) personnel, who died on duty from 2019 to 2021, 73 lost were posted in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, the minister said that of the 177 CAPFs personnel have died in the line of duty in the last three years.

He said out of these maximum of 73 personnel died in J&K, followed by 27 in Chhattisgarh.

Among the 73, he said 49 were from CRPF, and one from SSB, who were killed in 2019.

He said 20 including a BSF man were killed in 2020 and 3 CRPF personnel were killed in 2021–(KNO)
