SRINAGAR: A 75-year-old man was killed after being hit by a motorcycle in the Tanda Nagrota area of Jammu on Saturday, officials said.
According to police, the elderly man was crossing the road when he was struck by a Bullet motorcycle, resulting in critical injuries. He was rushed for medical assistance but succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Chuni Lal, an inhabitant of the Nagrota area.
Police said that a case has been registered in connection with the incident. The motorcycle involved in the accident has been seized, and the rider has been arrested for further investigation.
Officials said that the circumstances leading to the accident are being examined, while further legal formalities are underway.
Police have urged motorists to exercise caution, particularly in populated areas, and appealed to pedestrians to remain vigilant while crossing busy roads. [KNT]
