Nine people died while two others got injured when a vehicle met with a tragic accident on Matigawran-Inshan road in Warwan area of Kishtwar District some 170 KM Kishtwar District bordering Islamabad District of Kashmir valley.

According to reports,  the ill fated vehicle fell into 300 feet deep gorge as a result of which 7 people died on spot while two other died enroute to Afti Community Centre.

After hearing about the incident,  local army unit at Inshan along with police and locals rush to the spot and started rescue and relief operation. After hectic efforts,   all the dead bodies were recovered from the accident site and shifted  to CHC Afti. The injured has also been shifted to Afti, where doctors  provided them the medical care.

Though the injured require specialized treatment , but due to heavy snow going on in the area, the injured has not been shifted either to nearest Islamabad Hospital in Kashmir or in District Hospital Kishtwar.

Pertinently the area lacks proper road connectivity,  besides their is no communications link except few satellite phones and their is also no electricity and hospital in the area having 20 to 25 thousand population. The death toll is likely to go up in case the injured could not be shifted to Islamabad or Kishtwar hospital immediately.
