At least 9 residential houses collapsed in Laridora of Lalpora area in Baramulla District on Tuesday however, no one was injured in the incident.
Reports said that a huge portion of land caved as a result of heavy rains and snowfall in the area over the last three days. Locals said that a huge crater has developed in the area resulted in the destruction of about nine houses.
The locals said that they thought an earthquake had stuck the area resulting in the panic.
The land in the locality has caved as deep as 30 feet below the surface, they said.
Though the residents were safe however they have suffered a huge loss.
Pertinently, the valley received a fresh and heavy snowfall and rain during the weekend.
