SRINAGAR: The counter-insurgent forces on Friday launched a cordon and search operation in Narpora village in south Kashmir’s of Shopian district.

Reports said that a joint team of the army’s 15 garhwal rifles, SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police and 14 battalion of CRPF cordoned off the Narpora area of Shopian.

They said the CASO was launched in the village following inputs about the presence of militants.

Sources said that large numbers of forces have been deployed in the area and a door-to-door search operation is going on.
