A newly married couple on Friday died in a road accident in north Kashmir’s Pattan area of Baramulla district.
An official said that a car bearing registration number JK05C/2009 hit a motor cycle bearing registration number JK05F/4657 near Tapper area of Pattan in which two persons were injured.
They said the injured were shifted to nearby hospital where doctors declared them dead on arrival.
The deceased were identified as a newly married couple Muzaffar Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Muhammad Khan, a resident of Singhpora Pattan and his wife Asha Begum.
SSP Baramulla Imtiyaz Hussain while confirming the mishap told Kashmir Life that the vehicle was immediately seized by the police.
“The accused driver, however, fled from the spot soon after the incident. A manhunt has been launched to nab him,” he said.
