Srinagar

The members of Dukhtaran e Millat have claimed that their chairperson Syedah Asiya Andrabi was not presented before court for hearing on Thursday.

“She was supposed to be present in district court Srinagar for hearing on September 21. But she was not presented. Earlier her hearing was scheduled on September 14 but she was not presented that time as well,” reads an official statement of the party.

As per the statement, the party general secretary, Nahida Nasreen, said, “In the case of Aasiya Andrabi, Supreme Court rulings were ignored, which says detainees should be put at the closest place to their residence, so that neither the detainees nor their relatives face problems.” The DeM chief is presently jailed in Amphla jail in Jammu.
