Abducted Handwara Girl Recovered from Himachal Pradesh: Police

Police have recovered an abducted girl from Dalhousie Himachal Pradesh and also arrested the kidnapper.

“On 5th of last month it was reported to police that a minor girl (name withheld) has been abducted by Dilawar Ahmad Sheikh son of Ali Mohammad Sheikh resident of Zachaldara. To this effect a case FIR number 07/16 was registered in Police Station Handwara and investigation was taken up,” JKP spokesperson said Tuesday evening, “during the investigation, several accomplices of Dilawar were arrested for their involvement in facilitating the kidnapping. The investigating team headed by Sub-Inspector Masroor Ahmad, after strenuous efforts got the information that the kidnapped girl has been taken outside the state in Dalhousie Himachal Pradesh.”

Police in coordination with the state police of Himachal Pradesh arrested the accused along with the abducted girl. The girl has been later handed over to her relatives, the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, eight persons were injured in two separate road accidents in South Kashmir.

In Islamabad, a Maruti car bearing registration number JK12B-8144 and a Tavera bearing registration number JK03C-4701 collided near Petrol Pump at Sangam, resulting in injuries to Gulzar Ahmad Bhat resident of Noorpora Tral, Nisar Ahmad Hajam resident of Sagam Kokernag and Hafiza resident of Anchidoora. All the injured have been shifted to Sub District Hospital Bijbehara for treatment.

In Pulwama, a B.P Bunker bearing registration number AP112341 of 182 BN CRPF and a Truck bearing registration number JK22-3837 collided near Gadoora, resulting in injuries to 04 CRPF persons and a police constable. All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Pulwama wherefrom they have been referred to SKIMS Soura for further treatment.

The JKP spokesperson further informed that a residential house was damaged in fire in Kupwara district last evening.

Fire broke out in the residential house of one Abdul Aziz Mir son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir resident of Doroosa Lolab Kupwara, resulting in partial damage to the house. Fire tenders bought fire under control with the help of police and locals.
