SRINAGAR: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday filed a charge sheet against two former officials of the Town Drainage Division, Jammu, and a contractor for misappropriation of funds related to drainage works in Doda district.
According to an official statement, a challan was produced before the Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Doda in FIR No. 03/2019 under Sections 5(1)(d) read with 5(2) of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act and 120-B RPC.
The accused have been identified as Subash Chander, then Assistant Executive Engineer, Kuldeep Kumar Koul, then Junior Engineer, and contractor Mansoor Ahmed of Thathri, Doda.
The case was initiated following a Joint Surprise Check into allegations of substandard construction work at Kutan Nallah, Thathri. The ACB said the investigation, supported by engineering reports and IIT Jammu findings, confirmed that the accused compromised on work quality and used substandard material, causing a loss of Rs 9.95 lakh to the government exchequer.
