SRINAGAR: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of the inter-cadre deputation tenure of Akshay Labroo, IAS (Tripura: 2018), from the Tripura cadre to the AGMUT cadre for his posting in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to an official order, the deputation has been extended for a further period of one year beyond 17 February 2026.
Labroo is presently serving in Jammu and Kashmir on inter-cadre deputation. The ACC’s approval enables him to continue his assignment under the AGMUT cadre for the extended tenure.
The decision has been taken in accordance with the prescribed service rules governing inter-cadre deputation of All India Services officers.
A 2018-batch IAS officer of the Tripura cadre, Labroo has earlier served as Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Director Information, Department of Public Relations, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Srinagar. He is also the first Kashmiri Pandit to have served as Deputy Commissioner Srinagar.
