A policeman, on duty at the summer residence of a Jammu and Kashmir former minister, Saturday lost his life when accidentally his service rifle went off with a missed fire.
Head Constable Abdul Gani Dar of 3rd Battalion IRP died on spot when a bullet that came out from his service riffle accidentally hit him at the official residence of former Higher Education Minister Abdul Gani Malik at Shivpora here, police said.
Dar died on the spot, police said adding that it was not immediately known how the incident occurred.
The former minister or his family members were not present in the house when the incident happened.
