National Conference president and MP from Srinagar parliamentary constituency, Dr Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday apprised PM Modi of the situation in the Valley and urged him to address the issue politically.
During a meeting that lasted over half-an-hour, Abdullah briefed the PM on the growing unrest in the Valley.
Abdullah urged the PM to take urgent steps to address the Kashmir issue politically, saying it was not a mere law and order problem.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson of the party said that Dr Farooq sought a political approach from New Delhi to deal with the Kashmir situation and said dealing with the Kashmir Issue solely through operational and law-and-order mechanisms would continue to compound the already grave situation.
