SRINAGAR: Additional Director General of Police (Armed) JK, Shri Anand Jain, IPS, on Friday chaired preparatory meetings at the Armed Police Headquarters in Srinagar to review arrangements for two upcoming mega events — Jashn-e-Dal 2025 and Run for Unity – Kashmir Marathon 2025.
The three-day Jashn-e-Dal 2025 festival will be held from 13 to 15 September at the back lawns of SKICC, Srinagar. It will feature water sports, cultural programmes and recreational competitions, with participation of over 3,000 athletes from across the country.
The Run for Unity – Kashmir Marathon 2025 is scheduled for 2 October at the Police Golf Course, Srinagar. Organised under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) of JK Police, the event will be held in 12 categories to encourage wide participation from professional athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
During the review meeting, the ADGP finalised detailed arrangements for smooth conduct of both events, with focus on traffic management, deployment of police and security personnel, medical facilities, transportation and telecom support, media coverage, and hospitality for athletes.
The meeting was attended by senior police officers including DIG IRP Kashmir Junaid Mehmood, DIG AP Kashmir Shahid Mehraj, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir Aijaz Ahmad, Commandants of Srinagar-based battalions, SSP AIG Communications Manoj Pandita, SSP APCR Kashmir Munir Ahmad, and Medical Superintendent Police Hospital Dr Irfana Gani, besides representatives of sports associations and other departments.
