Police Seize Vehicles in Illegal Mining Drive in South Kashmir 

   

SRINAGAR: Police in awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama have intensified their crackdown on illegal mining, seizing two vehicles involved in the unlawful excavation and transportation of minerals, officials said on Friday.

A police team from Awantipora, led by the Station House Officer (SHO), intercepted a dumper (registration number JK03H-1515) and a JCB without a registration number. Both vehicles were found to be engaged in illegal mining activities, police said.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 183/2025 at Police Station Awantipora under relevant sections of law, and further investigation has been initiated.

Police have urged community members to share information about illegal mining in their neighbourhoods, assuring strict action against offenders.
