Life returned to normalcy in central Kashmir’s Kangan Town on Tuesday which remained shut for two days against the killing of a youth.

Amir Hamid Lone (22) son of Abdul Hamid Lone, a resident of Chattergul Kangan was critically injured in Kangan clashes which erupted soon after the news about the passing away of another youth Gowhar Ahmad Rather at SKIMS spread in the area.

Amir battled for life more than 12 days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of SKIMS Soura. had received injuries on his head during forces action at Kangan on April 3, he succumbed at SKIMS, Soura on Sunday.

All shops and other business establishments were opened and transport plies normally on the roads, reports said adding that the police had made heavy security arrangements to avoid any further tension in the area.

Class work has been suspended at Govt Degree College Kangan and Govt boys and girls higher secondary schools.

Eyewitnesses said that a large number of people were seen busy in purchasing different household items from the market.

Pertinently, the traders had shut their businesses at a stretch for 2 days against the killing of a youth in forces firing.
