After Jammu region, cross-LoC shelling between the armies of both India and Pakistan erupted in Uri sector of Kashmir division, an army official said.

He said that Pakistan army last night at around 9:55 pm violated ceasefire by firing from automatic weapons and shelling mortars on several army posts along the line of control (LOC) in Kamal Koot area of Uri Sector in Baramulla district of north Kashmir. The shelling continued till 12:30 am, he said.

However, there was no immediate report of any causality due to the shelling so far.

Meanwhile, local people said that there was panic as people move to safer places and there were also disturbances in offering prayers. (GNS)
