After police, union home minister Rajnath Singh Thursday said that preliminary interrogation of the captured militant reveals that he is Pakistani.
The militant who HM Singh identified as Mohammad Naveed Yakub alias Usman of Faisalabad in Pakistan shot dead two BSF personnel besides injuring 14 others in the attack on Srinagar-Jammu Highway along with his colleague. While Usman was caught alive by people, the other militant was killed in a retaliatory fire.
“The Government remains committed to combating terrorism with a strong resolve and ensuring the safety and security of our citizens and our security personnel,” Singh said.
