Despite Intelligence Bureau’s routine alerts about JK’s security situation, the Border Security Force (BSF) Thursday said that there had been no intelligence inputs of any “terror attack” in Udhampur.
DK Pathak, BSF Director General told Press that for last 20 years, no incident had happened in the area, and it was a relatively safe region.
“We had no input of the attack,” he said. “We keep changing our deployment pattern for security reasons.”
On Wednesday morning, two militants attacked BSF convoy on Srinagar-Jammu Highway near Udhampur leaving two paramilitary men dead and 14 others injured. In retaliatory fire, one militant was killed while another was caught alive.
