Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairperson, Muhammad Yasin Malik on Monday called for complete shutdown against the arrest of Prof SAR Geelani and “harassment” of Kashmiri students studying in Delhi.
In a statement issued to KNS, Malik said, “Kashmiris will not remain silent over the continued efforts of demonizing Kashmiri students in Delhi and other Indian states.”
Notably, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (g) early in the day called for complete shutdown on Saturday against the arrest of Prof Geelani.
“Kashmir will shut down on February 27 (Saturday) against the oppressive measures of India including arresting peaceful social activist and educationists like Prof SAR Geelani, incarcerating and intimidating JNU, Kashmiri students and also registering fake cases against them,” he said.
Malik while speaking in a meeting of JKLF on Monday held to deliberate upon the situation developed after the continuous detention of Prof SAR Geelani and other students of JNU and “witch hunt” of Kashmiri students studying in Delhi and other states Malik said, “Indian rulers and their authorities have unleashed a reign of terror against Kashmiri students studying in Delhi and other Indian states.”
