United Jihad Council (UJC) chief Syed Salahuddin on Monday said that the Indian agencies were targeting his children and relatives to prevent him from taking part in the freedom struggle.

In a statement to CNS, Salahuddin said such attempts would neither affect my role in the freedom struggle nor would they create any trust deficit between the people and the leadership.

“I am away from my family for past thirty years and the nation knows that none of my family members has had any association with the financial matter of the struggle,” the statement quoted Salahuddin as having said.

He also condemned his “character assassination” by the agencies.
