Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is hosting legislators of both PDP and BJP for dinner at his Gupkar residence Friday evening to chart out a joint strategy to be adopted to counter fiery opposition which is all set to corner the coalition government in Legislative Assembly, as autumn session is beginning tomorrow.

Sources told KNS that Mufti, who returned from Pahalgam today where he stayed overnight, will be brainstorming with his party’s and alliance partner’s legislators at a Joint Legislative Party meet over dining table where “both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes” would be served.

The meeting, as per sources, is aimed at to chalk out the Alliance strategy to face the opposition collectively during the autumn session of the state legislature starting tomorrow.

The main opposition parties including National Conference and Congress and legislators like MY Tarigami, Hakeem Yaseen and Er Rashid have geared up to corner the Government on the issues like beef ban, growing unemployment problem, delayed salaries of casual and permanent employees and relief and rehabilitation of flood victims.

But it is yet to be seen whether CM will discuss beef ban with BJP legislators, “who would like to anything on menu but beef”.

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti will also hold a separate meeting of the party legislators, sources added.
