Ahead of May 21 program, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (m) chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was put under house arrest Friday evening.
Sources told Kashmir Life that Hurriyat Conference (m) chief and its spokesperson were detained in their respective residence this evening.
To commemorate death anniversary of Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq, Mirwaiz had appealed people to reach Eidgah on Saturday.
Early in the day, Mirwaiz Umar addressed faithful in Jamia Masjid in Old Srinagar after which he addressed a rally.
The Hurriyat Conference (m) chief has also called for shutdown tomorrow.
