Ahead of Prime Minister’s scheduled visit to Kishtwar on June 25, the Director General of Police Ashok Prashad along with Additional Director General of Police VK Singh and IGP Jammu Rajesh Kumar today reviewed the security arrangements in Kishtwar.

DGP, who arrived today morning in Kishtwar inspected the venue where Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan is schedule to address a public rally. He is expected to lay the foundation stone of 850 MW Rattle Hydro Electrical Power Project, to be constructed on river Chenab at Drabshala in Kishtwar District.

After inspecting the venue, DGP chaired a high level  meeting which was attended by various wings of forces, IB, Army, SSB, CISF and senior officers of District administration and Kishtwar police. SSP Kishtwar Dr Sunil Gupta briefed the DGP and ADGP security about the various steps taken by them to secure the visit of Prime Minister.

District Police Kishtwar also presented a detailed layout of security grid around the ‘D’ area as well as around the venue through power point presentation.

Earlier Minister of State for Home, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo also inspected the venue and issued necessary directions to the ‘security’ agencies.

As per sources Kichloo, along with senior ‘security’ officials, also conducted the aerial survey of the PM’s venue at Banihal and Kishtwar. “Special team of black cat commandos is also arriving at Kishtwar ahead of the PM visit,” said informed sources told Kashmir Life.

As per details, Dr Singh will arrive in Kishtwar on June 25, afternoon after dedicating the Banihal- Qaziqund rail link to the people.

Pertinently this will be the 3rd visit of Prime Minister, Dr Singh to Kishtwar since he become the Prime Minister of India in 2004.
