Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) on Wednesday held one day convention of Srinagar District, which was attended by people hailing from different walks of life.
Beside Er Rashid those who spoke on the occasion included party general secretary Adv. Nazir Ahmad Malik, District president Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion party president Er Rashid congratulated people of the city for beginning to show faith in the policies and programs of AIP.
He said, “National Conference leadership should read writing on the wall and understand that it cannot keep the people of the city hostage for its vested political interests which ultimately has resulted only in adding to the miseries and misfortunes of the people of city, who have always been symbol of resistance and have acted as reference points in the major incidents of Kashmir history.”
He added: “Like people of the state it is for the people of the city to decide that whether they can achieve their genuine political aspirations and good governance by having a boycott to the polls and facilitate NC and PDP to carry forward their anti people and anti Kashmir agenda or should come forward and elect sincere, dedicated and genuine people to the assembly to achieve the same.”
“When one compares the overall development that has taken place in city during last 25 years it has no compassion with that what has been carried out in Jammu. The youth of the city are being involved in false FIRs and their right of expression stands seized which ultimately has resulted in minimizing their job opportunities and made their life miserable.”
He promised that AIP will do everything possible or required to ensure that they glory of Srinagar is restored and the inhabitants dignity and honor is protected at all costs and expected that one has every reason to believe that people of the city will definitely own the change which AIP promises for a better tomorrow, better Kashmir.
