Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) has paid rich tributes to its Chief spokesperson, Showkat Ahmad Nadvi who passed away yesterday in a tragic road accident.

Party’s working committee met on Tuesday, under the chairmanship of its president Er Rashid at its central office in and paid rich tributes to the slain young leader.

Speaking on the occasion Rashid said, “Nadvi’s role in formation of AIP would be remembered for ever.”

Rashid said that Nadvi was not only spokesman of AIP but a sincere Kashmiri who despite having available all that what is required for a charming life, choose to join politics, believing it as a holy mission. “Nadvi’s loss is not only to a loss to AIP but to the whole nation as it takes long time to produce sincere, dedicated and down to earth leaders like Nadvi,” Rashid said.

“Nadvi was a religious scholar, an intellectual of high integrity, a great teacher, man of simplicity, a social worker and a true nationalist Kashmiri who always showed his concern towards the sufferings of the people,” said Rashid.

AIP general secretary Advocate Nazir Ah Malik expressed strong belief that AIP was among other speakers on the occasion.

The working committee also prayed for the early recovery of Tanveer Hussain Khan and Advocate Ab Rashid Dar who were injured in the same accident and are now undergoing treatment in SKIMS.
