SRINAGAR: Air India will introduce an airline-branded travel SIM card for passengers travelling overseas, providing access to voice and data services through international roaming.

As a digital-first travel connectivity service, EasyRoam lets travellers choose, activate and purchase data plans before departure, with data-only or voice + data connectivity options across 30 countries.
Powered by Tata Communications’ global footprint and partnerships with 600+ mobile network operators, EasyRoam SIM’s geographical coverage will progressively expand to up to 190 countries, helping travellers stay connected with plans suited to their needs.

The product, called EasyRoam, that has been developed in partnership with Tata Communications and will be offered as both a physical SIM card and an eSIM, the airline said in a release on Thursday.
Passengers will be able to purchase the service through a dedicated Air India-branded webpage. The SIM card will initially be provided free of cost, while charges will apply for the roaming packs used by travellers.
EasyRoam will initially support international roaming across 30 countries spanning North America, Europe, including the UK, Australia, the Asia-Pacific region and the Middle East.
The service is intended to allow passengers to stay connected to voice and data services while travelling internationally.
Both Air India and Tata Communications are part of the Tata Group.
