SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has revised the service batch of IAS officer Ram Niwas Sharma from AGMUT:2010 to AGMUT:2009 following the re-fixation of his seniority in the Indian Administrative Service.
The General Administration Department (GAD) issued the notification on October 8, 2026, based on Order No. 14015/27/2019-AIS-I dated July 31, 2026 issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India.
The notification said the revision was made consequent upon the re-fixation of Sharma’s seniority in the AGMUT cadre of the IAS.
With the change, Sharma’s official batch has been moved back by one year, from 2010 to 2009. The GAD has directed that the officer’s official records be amended to reflect the revised batch.
