SRINAGAR
Ajatshatru Singh, son of senior Congress leader Karan Singh and grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh, the last ruler of the erstwhile princely state of Jammu & Kashmir, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday in the presence of party president Amit Shah.
He was earlier in the National Conference and is a member of the state legislature council from the Nagrota seat.
Dr Karan Singh’s elder son Vikramaditya Singh joined the PDP ahead of the coming elections of the J&K assembly.
The BJP also readmitted its expelled senior leader Chaman Lal Gupta as part of the efforts to boost its prospects in the elections.
