J&K Police Monday evening said that an “Over ground worker” (OGW) of Al-Badar militant outfit was apprehended in Handwara.

“Acting on tip off, about the movement of Anti-National Elements (ANEs) in the area, Handwara police along with 27RR Army laid a Naka at Sagipora Crossing. During checking one suspect who tried to hide himself and give slip to the Naka party was apprehended and later identified as Bashir Ahmad Dar resident of Pohru Peth, an over ground worker of Al-Badar militant Outfit,” a statement issued police said this evening.

“On his search, one Chinese Pistol along with ammunition was recovered from his possession. A case FIR number 14/2016 under section 7/25 arms act was registered in Police Station Handwara,” the statement added.
