Independent Legislator Er Rasheed Monday suggested PDP president Mehbooba Mufti “not to take a decision in haste” over government formation.

Addressing party workers at various places in Langate today, he said, “though people deserve a popular government but addressing their political aspirations and protecting their rights is far more important than other all issues.”

“It should not be the primary question whether a civilian government runs the show or someone else, as in any case the government machinery has to be the same, but the elected government has to project and resolve the aspirations of the people and if sincere can force New Delhi for an honourable solution to the dispute. Any well-wisher of Kashmiris should not force or compel Mehbooba to form the govt. in hast under current circumstances. However, BJP is leaving no stone unturned to bury the Kashmir issue and has forced PDP to go defensive,” he told his party workers.

Rasheed added, “the act of time being consumed by Mehbooba Mufti for government formation will be appreciable if she uses the opportunity to say ‘bye-bye’ to BJP.”
