Dispelling rumours that the health condition of Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani has “worsened” again, close family members of octogenarian leader said that he is “all right”.

A chronic chest disease patient, Geelani has been maintaining low health status for last some days. He has been facing continuous breathlessness and his family had to call doctors mid-night on Friday for check-up.

“Abu Ji (Geelani) is all well,” Geelani’s Professor son, Naseem, told Kashmir Life over phone. “He is under continuous medical observation.”

Following the doctors’ advice, no one is being allowed to meet Geelani. “He has been advised to take complete rest, stop public contacts so as to avoid infection,” Naseem said and added that he is himself looking after his father.

“Let me assure you that he is responding well to the medication. More so, he is speaking normally; this time he is performing ablution,” Naseem said while Geelani was preparing for Maghrib prayers.

Geelani was administered oxygen early Sunday but was removed later in the day, however, nebulization is being still continued.

“Please stop spreading rumours,” Naseem appealed general public.
