A circular issued by the Office of the Chief Engineer, Distribution, PDD, Kargil, stated that outstanding dues for each department’s electricity connections must be cleared separately before the end of the current financial year, 2025-26. Departments will be allowed to pay these arrears in instalments.

Following the conversion, departments are required to recharge their consumer IDs and connections in advance to avoid automatic disconnection of power supply.

The directive applies to all government electricity connections under Ladakh’s distribution and generation network.
