National Conference on Wednesday reiterated its stand of safeguarding Article 35 A and upholding the integrity and unity of the State and said the party would fight tooth and nail against disruptive and divisive forces.

While addressing a one day Workers’ Convention at Chishot Leh, NC Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani said, “People of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh stands united against the forces of division and NC will continue to protect the State’s Special Status at all costs. For us Art 35-A is an article of faith and therefore non-negotiable.”

“The powers that be are engineering a distortion that Article 35-A is only for one region of the State while the reality is that there is a unanimous consensus in all the three regions about the importance of Article 35-A and the people of Ladakh stand shoulder-to-shoulder with people from Kashmir and Jammu in our fight to protect the State’s interests”, the NC Provincial President said while speaking in Leh.

Earlier Nasir inaugurated the Party’s Block Chishot Office at a function that was attended by a large number of locals and party functionaries. He impressed upon the workers to continue the party’s outreach programme in all halqas and mohallas of the district and engage more and more youth into the party’s ongoing programs.

“NC has always been at the forefront of keeping a fine balance between all the three regions of the State. Our work in Ladakh is a testimony to the fact that NC has always given credence to work and merit without any regional or religious prejudice and we will continue to work towards a vision of equitable development and growth of all the regions of the State,” he said.
