The Jammu and Kashmir Police Wednesday late eve issued a statement detailing the events in the alleged abduction case of two persons from North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

The statement is produced ‘as it is’ for the interest of the readers:

On 28th of November 2015,  P/S Kralpora received a complaint from relatives of Ghulam Jeelani Khatana (52 Years) S/O Karam Din R/O Sajan Nari Dardpora Kralpora Kupwara, Mir Hussain Khatan (55 yrs) S/O Ismayeel Khatan R/O Gujran Dardpora Kralpora Kupwara that on 17th of Nov. 2015, one person namely Manzoor Ahmad Khawja S/O Gh Qadir Khawja R/O Satboyan Dardpora called them to  Kralpora and since then the whereabouts of the said persons are not known nor any kind of communication could be made with them.

Accordingly, P/S Kralpora lodged an FIR vide No. 100/2015 u/s 364 RPC into and investigations were set into motion. The alleged accused person, Manzoor Ahmad Khawja was arrested on 08/12/2015 and is on Police remand.

Similarly, P/S Trehgam received a complaint  on 29/11/2015 regarding missing of one Ali Mohammd Sheikh (40 yrs) S/O Abdu Aziz Sheikh R/O Checkpora Trehgam Kupwara since 17th Nov. 2015 and accordingly a missing report was recorded.

Today on 09/12/2015, the family persons of these missing persons were called to P/S Kralpora and were shown photographs of the four militants killed in encounters since 15/11/2015. The relatives of these missing persons denied resemblance of these photographs with those of their missing relatives in presence of the independent witnesses.

Further investigation is going on.
