Alleged Abduction of Kupwara Men: The Army Statement

The Srinagar based spokesperson of army Wednesday late evening issued a statement on the alleged abduction of two persons from North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

The statement is issued verbatim:

1. Case of alleged abduction by TA soldier, Rfn Manzoor Ahmad Khwaja is subjudice. TA soldier reported to police whenever required by them. Full cooperation being extended by Army in investigations which are in progress. Individual has given his statement to the police.
2. Army denies any case of fake encounter as alluded to in some dailies.
3. Army stands by its policy of zero tolerance for HR violations.
