Police on Tuesday afternoon said that it arrested an alleged braid chopper who was in relationship with a local girl.
In a statement, police said: “Today afternoon the local people in Delina Baramulla caught hold of a boy who they alleged was a Braid chopper. On this police party from police post Delina rushed to the spot. The boy was being beaten mercilessly when police intervened to rescue him. Large numbers of miscreants attacked police party as well but some how the boy was rescued from their clutches by firing tear smoke shells to disperse them . He was immediately given medical treatment. “
The statement further added that during preliminary investigation the identity of the boy was established as Nayeem Ahmad Malla S/O Ghulam Mohiuddin Malla R/O Dandusa,Rafiabad Baramulla.
“Investigation into the matter also revealed that Nayeem was in a relationship with a local girl from Delina village and had gone to meet her when he was spotted and beaten up by locals there accusing him being Braid chopper.”
Police has registered Case FIR No 177/2017 and further investigation into the matter is going on.
