Setting all speculation aside, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K State President Sat Sharma Thursday said that the alliance between PDP-BJP is intact and both the parties will again form the Government in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sharma told CNS that BJP has sought 10 more days from Governor NN Vohra to resolve some issues pertaining to government formation with its ally Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). “Previous governments in the State could not achieve what PDP-BJP Government achieved and did in 10 months’ time. In fact PDP-BJP government will come into existence again and it will be good and pro-people government,” Sharma said.

When asked PDP has sought assurance vis-à-vis implementation of Agenda of Alliance, Sharma said that the Agenda of Alliance will be implemented in “letter and spirit”. “There are certain issues that we would like to sort out with PDP. We are in touch and our alliance is still intact. Both the parties will form the government that will work for the development of the state,” he said.

Meanwhile, National Vice-President Bhartiya Janata Party Avinash Rai Khana said that BJP is “positive” about the government formation. “PDP has authorized Mehbooba Ji to speak on behalf of party and we wish they elect their Legislative party leader too. We are positive about the government formation in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
