SRINAGAR: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Friday paid tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and his devoted companions who made the ultimate sacrifice in the historic Battle of Karbala more than 14 centuries ago.
In a statement, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari highlighted the significance of Youm-e-Ashura, a day observed with profound reverence and solemnity to commemorate and mourn the Shahadah (martyrdom) of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his revered companions.
“The supreme sacrifices of Imam Aali Maqam and his companions have taught us the invaluable virtue of standing firm against injustice, tyranny, and oppression, even when our very lives are at stake,” remarked Bukhari. He further stressed the enduring lesson from the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions, urging people to speak out for truth and to stand against oppression, even if the oppressor is related to them.
Reflecting on the historical events, Bukhari recalled, “More than 14 centuries ago, the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) sacrificed himself and his beloved ones in the Battle of Karbala but did not bow before the oppressor. In doing so, Imam Hussain (RA) has taught us how to be righteous, kind, patient, and brave while fighting against oppression.”
Youm-e-Ashura serves as a poignant reminder of the bravery and principles demonstrated by Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions, inspiring people to follow their example and continue to resist injustice in all its forms.
