A Special investigation Team (SIT) of Jammu and Kashmir Police, constituted to investigate Amarnath attack, has arrested a policeman on Thursday, who serves as driver to a PDP legislator, in connection with the case.
The policeman identified as Touseef Ahmad, drives the official vehicle of Aijaz Mir, lawmaker from Wachi segment of Shopian, and was picked by police on Thursday for questioning.
“The driver is a member of police department and it is a matter between police and him. I am ready to cooperate with the police on the issue,” Mir told Kashmir Life.
Seven Yatris were killed during the crossfire between suspected militants and policemen on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Batengo village near Islamaabd town of southern Kashmir on Monday.
