The pilgrimage is scheduled to begin on July 3 and conclude on August 28 this year.

A bank spokesman said nearly 6,000 yatris registered on the opening day, indicating strong enthusiasm among pilgrims for undertaking the annual journey to the cave shrine in south Kashmir.

The registration process is being carried out through 110 designated branches of the bank nationwide on a first-come, first-served basis, in line with guidelines issued by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.

The spokesman quoted Managing Director and CEO Amitava Chatterjee, who said the bank remains committed to facilitating the pilgrimage through streamlined services. “From enabling a seamless registration process to ensuring reliable banking support during the yatra, we aim to provide convenience to yatris at every step,” he said.

He added that dedicated help desks have been established at designated branches, and staff have been trained in advance to assist pilgrims and ensure a smooth registration experience.

As per procedure, advance registration is being conducted through Aadhaar-based biometric eKYC authentication in real time, with system-generated permits issued via the Shrine Board’s official portal.

Authorities said pilgrims are required to submit a valid Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) issued by authorised medical institutions, along with the prescribed fee, to obtain the Yatra permit.
