As Governor NN Vohra Friday invited Peoples Democratic Party and BJP for deliberations over the formation of the new government in J&K, PDP dismissed the reports that it was ‘deliberating with BJP to form new dispensation’ in J&K.

Peoples Democratic Party chief spokesman Naeem Akhtar Friday said there has been no ‘formal offer’ from the BJP over the issue till now.

“We have not received any formal offer from BJP and if there will be we will deliberate over it,” he told KNS.

Asked about Ram Madhav’s talks with PDP leaders, he said, “It was informal talk. But I appreciate Madhav’s statement where he said Mufti Mohamamd Sayeed is a national leader and BJP holds him in high caliber.”

On National Conference’s offer of support to his party for government formation, Akhtar said, “NC has neither sent a written nor verbal offer to us. They say it in media only. They didn’t approach us. Had they we would have deliberated over it.”

He also dismissed reports that Mufti Sayeed was going to Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders for talks over government formation.

Sources said Vohra has sent separate letters to PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and state BJP president Jugal Kishore for holding discussions on the proposal for government formation.

PDP chief spokesman Nayeem Akhtar confirmed to KNS that they have received a letter from the government. “Mehbooba Ji has received a letter in which she has been told to deliberate over the issue till January 1.”

Jugal Kishore also confirmed he has received letter from the governor. “We have been asked to come till January 1,” he said.
