Amid complete shutdown, the government on Wednesday put restrictions in place across Kulgam district to foil “Kulgam chalo”, called by the joint resistance leadership.
The district is observing a complete shutdown against the civilian and militant killings.
Contingents of police and paramilitary forces have been deployed at district headquarter Kulgam and other major townships of the district including Khudwani, Qaimoh, Frisal, Yaripora and Bugam.
Forces have sealed all major roads leading to Kulgam to prevent people from marching towards the district headquarter.
Meanwhile, all shops and other business establishments remained shut in Wanpoh, Khudwani, Redwani, Tachloo, Rampora, DH Pora, Devsar and other adjoining areas of the district.
