Authorities on Monday imposed restrictions amid valley wide shutdown in Srinagar parts ahead of the ‘Badami Bagh army cantonment Chalo’ call by separatist leadership Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL).
Reports said that authorities in Srinagar have ordered imposition of restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC within the territorial jurisdictions of Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, Safakadal, MR Gunj and Ram Munshibagh police stations of the district on Monday.
There will also be partial restrictions within the territorial jurisdictions of Maisuma and Kralkhud police stations of the district. The restrictions have been imposed as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident.
Earlier JRL had called for three days of valley-wide shutdown against the killings of seven civilians and three militants in Sirnoo area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq had earlier announced that JRL and people will march towards Badami Bagh Army cantonment on Monday 17 Dec “to ask GOI to kill all of us at one time rather than killing us daily.”
