Bharatiya Janata Party Chief and close aide of Indian Prime Minister Narindra Modi is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir later this month. This will be his maiden visit after becoming party president early this month.

Reports said that Amit Shah is scheduled to address a public rally in Kathua district in Jammu region on August 25.

The Amit Shah rally would be run up to state assembly elections to be held later this year. The BJP is running its “Mission 44” in Jammu and Kashmir to form its next government. Shah has already said that “to make a BJP government in J&K is my dream”.

Meanwhile, in an attempt to widen its base and outreach to the millions of people of Jammu and Kashmir in the forthcoming state assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday launched an SMS number service at the party headquarters.
