Adbee Markaz Kamraz (AMK) held its monthly meeting of the Executive in Sopore Sunday in which many important decisions regarding future activities in the new year were taken. President AMK Dr Aziz Hajni presided over the meeting.

According to a statement issued to KNS, the meeting discussed the proposed special issue of the AMK annual journal “Prav” which is being published as “Rasheed Nazki Number.” It was decided that the process of bringing out this special edition of the journal will be expedited. The editors informed the meeting that efforts will be made to cover all the aspects of life and literary contributions of Prof Nazki.

In an important decision to promote theatre and its artists, AMK has announced to organize a theatre festival in Jammu in the month of February . “Many of the constituent units of AMK are associated with theatre, and this festival is aimed at providing them a platform to showcase their talent,” said Dr Hajni. The festival will have some competitive segments to encourage artists in their pursuit for excellence.

In yet another step to promote writers and poets of Kashmiri language, the meeting was informed that  in collaboration with Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar, AMK is going to start a  special series of  mushairas of humour and satire in coming days.

In an effort to reach to people living out of cities and towns regarding the language movement, the meeting decided to restart the ‘rotational meeting’ mode of the AMK. In the past rotational meetings were held in Lolab, Bandipore and Ganderbal. It was decided that next rotational meetings will be held in the  Baramulla and Kupwara districts.

Meanwhile, the AMK Executive visited the residence of Farooq Rafiabadi, President Kashmir Writers Forum, whose mother passed away few days back. Muhammad Yusuf Mashhoor addressed the condolence meeting at Rafiabadi’s home in Ladoora and prayed for the departed soul.
